Contribution to Symposium “Rethinking Human Rights” at Law & Liberty

I was pleased to contribute to this excellent symposium.

“The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was ratified 75 years ago on December 10, 1948. How the world understands universal human rights has changed significantly in that time. In this symposium, several Law & Liberty contributors consider the nature of universal human rights, what is necessary to uphold them, and what current trends portend.”

My contribution is titled: ‘The “Incendiary Centrist” Report from the US Commission on Unalienable Rights.’

Law & Liberty’s focus is on the classical liberal tradition of law and politics and how it shapes a society of free and responsible persons.

This magazine brings together serious debate, commentary, essays, book reviews, interviews, and educational material in a commitment to examining the first principles of a free society as they appear in law, history, political thought, and other aspects of culture.”
